Itza Brewing is a family-owned brewery in Ocean Beach, San Diego, a husband-and-wife team. We’ve always been amazed by San Diego’s selection of amazing craft beers and wanted to create our own. So we founded our brewery: Itza Brewing.

Itza Brewing name comes from our last name: Garcia Itza Niemi. Itza is an ancient Mayan name. There are only a few families left in the world named Itza.The word “Itza” comes from Mayan words “itz” (“magic”) and “h(a)” (“water”). And that it is thought that “Itza” means “Water Magician.” At Itza Brewing we strive to create magic from water: our craft beer.

Itza Brewing makes authentic, adventurous, inspired craft beer. We are on a journey to find & create new aromas and flavors to make craft beer at its best. Our brewing is fueled & inspired by ancient traditions, scientific knowledge, dedication, an adventurous mind and a palate, and hard work. We focus on canning. Our goal is bring to the market beers that are hard to find in cans. This way the beer lovers can enjoy these rare beers in cans at home or anywhere they want.

Our education & work is theoretical and scientific. We both missed being creative. Brewing beer is a science and an art. It combines knowledge with creativity. The photos at our website and social media are also by us. We design our own labels, inspired often by the nature around San Diego. We hope you will find your own favorite beer from our selection of craft beers.
